    Comments:

I try to ride 3 times a week (14-20 miles per ride). For the past 4 months I've been riding a 2002 Trek Alpha 4300 (non disc) with street rubber. After putting 240 miles on that bike in 3 weeks I realized it was probably time to get a little more serious about getting a road bike. Went to the Trek store and test rode 6 different bikes. Trek 1.1, 1.5, 2.1, 2.3, GF Trek Ion and Ion Pro (biased for Trek I know but after riding the 4300 for 9 years without any issues whatsoever I was sold on the quality considering that bike isn't anywhere near the top of the line). Although the carbon fiber frames were nice, the alpha black with carbon seat post and forks just seemed more comfortable to me and despite a lot of the negative reviews on the web about the seat, I found it to be very comfortable (on par with my mountain bike seat w/ get cover). I had done a lot of research on the web researching components, talking to serious riders, and reading a lot about all the different options. Out of all the bikes I test rode this was the only one that made me say, "Holy $#!&, this bike is fast" to myself as I was riding it and it was the only one that had me smiling when I carried it back into the store after the test ride. It was by far the best shifting and most comfortable riding position for me. I'm 100% sold on this bike and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an exceptionally solid road bike. I couldn't be happier and look forward to all of the miles I'm going to put on it.

This is the first road bike that I have ever rode or purchased.Extremely happy with purchase, can't keep me off it.I put over 3000 miles the first couple months.I actually rode a 125 mile ride on it withen a couple months of purchase and had a blast. When I first started riding it I to thought the seat was uncomfortable but you will get used to it.I can usually stay in the saddle to up to 4 hours befor I start getting sore. The key is to take short rests I find.My best friend bought the exact same bike wich I was not to happy about at first but how could I blame him, this bike rocks.

I had been in the market for a bike for the last two years. I had tested bikes across the board. I do not like spending money on something I would be disappointed with, and I'm not. It is an excellent, light & enjoyable ride. Some of the complaints I've read was the seat. All I can say is that if you're use to the [...] special then this bike isn't for you. Eight years ago I was saying the same thing. The seat is better than other seats in this class from what I've experienced. I have nothing negative to report.

I got this bike 3 week's ago, It's my first road bike so Im realy happy with it. Before I bought the bike I did alot of shopping around & for the prive point that the 2.3 is set up for, I think it was the best buy for me. the full shimano 105 set up is great, So are the rims.. Its a realy smooth bike aswell.. The only thing I changed was the seat to a selle smp. The seat it comes with is very low end & after awhile it realy starts to put a hurting on you.. If you dont have that much $ to spend on a bike, this is a great bike for the price..

Simply put this is an amazing bike that is priced very well. This bike handles like a dream, and takes a beating too. You can rely on the bike to be dependable and durable and it will dish whatever you give it. I only upgraded the seat because of my long weekend and training rides here in Miami, but overall stock, this bike performs!! And the best part is it looks amazing, very nice looking bike.

I have had this bike for almost a year now. It is my first road bike. I bought the bike because I wanted to start off with the 105 component group and a nice bike still in my price range. I have enjoyed every minute of riding on this bike and I ride almost everyday because of it. I have no complaints about the bike to date. I did change the saddle when I first purchased the bike so I could be a little more comfortable putting long hours in. I have been impressed with the continual smooth shifting with the 105 components and how well the bike has held up on these Charleston roads.

Amazed by the similar geometry (and shape) to the 4 series Madone, I purchased this bike right off the dealer shelves and never regretted it one bit! It's an excellent bike! Although I was having trouble handling her during the maiden ride, the bike eventually hugged and fitted me like a customized glove. As an upgrade from my 4 month-old 2010 Trek 1.2 - not only that she's fast, strong, and agile, she's also comfortable at the same time. Did i mention she's gorgeous also? Now I'm having her equipped with SRAM Rival compact, and the wonderful riding experiences are just about to begin. Great job Trek!

              Comments:

As a former professional cyclist in the early 90's, the bike is AMAZING!!!! I have ridden some pretty expensive bikes in the past but this bike has got it all. Bought the bike on Memorial Day and took it out the day after for a 28 mile ride after not riding for over 3 years. Handles great, very light and quick to respond to my aggresiveness. Only downfall is the GOD AWFUL seat. Could not get comfortable for the longest time on the ride. Maybe it will break in, not sure though. You would think they would add a comfortable seat for the price of the bike. Oh well!!! GREAT bike and I HIGHLY recommend the bike to anyone serious about training and riding hard. I test rode the entry Madone, not much difference at all except for the price. I am totally fine with my lightweight aluminum frame and great components on this bike. YOU NEED TO GET ONE ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                Comments:

Bought the 2.3 at my LBS after looking at other aluminum frame models as well as the carbon Madone. I've been hooked on the Canondale for years & I have to say, this Trek does them one better for the $ with the carbon fork, 105 components & bontrager race wheels. LBS did an in-depth fit check as part of the deal & changed out the head tube - now I simply fall into good riding position instead of always thinking about it. I changed out the seat with one I was already comfortable with, put on my Keo pedals & like Jackie Gleason - away I went. I can't tell you how great it felt with the compact crank to be able to hang in with the group on the Saturday hill climb - I wasn't out front but at least I was in the same zip code for a change.
