Routes to Ride Out Of Town

West Route = purple dashes
South route
= green dashes
East route
= yellow dashes

Please note that this map indicates the OLD location of the Blue Wheel at 19 Elliewood.
This old map should still suffice to get you out of town while I do a new map starting from our
NEW location at the Ix project close to downtown.

WEST From the end of Elliewood Ave., take a right on University Ave. Follow 250 straight past the next 3 stop lights. Take the right fork under the railroad bridge onto Old Ivy Rd. (just past the car wash at the 4th light). Follow Old Ivy Rd. out of town, cross the 250 bypass off ramp and continue straight onto Old Garth Rd. (also known as “21 curves”).Follow Old Garth past the Farmington Golf Course, duck pond and through all the curves to a T intersection with Garth Rd (601). Turn left onto 601 and go up the “good morning hill”.

SOUTH Take a right at the end of Elliewood Av., turn left at McCormick Rd, follow McCormick to Alderman Rd, turn left. Proceed on Alderman through the 4-way stop where Alderman changes names to Maury Ave. Continue to the stoplight and go straight where the road becomes Jefferson Park Av. (extended). Follow Jefferson Park Av. as it bends to the left in front of Fry Springs Beach Club and comes to a 3-way stop. Bear right onto Old Lynchburg Rd. Follow Old Lynchburg downhill, straight through a 4-way stop, uphill underneath 64 and come to a T intersection with 5th St. (extended). Turn right onto 631, a 4-lane road with a nice wide shoulder.

EAST Take a left at the end of Elliewood Av. and follow University Av. all the way to the end (it changes names at the second light to West Main St.), At the Lewis & Clark statue by the bus station, take a right onto Ridge St. Take the next left onto Monticello Ave. Follow Monticello Av. (it becomes route 20) all the way through the Belmont section of town down the big hill past the 64 interchange and Piedmont Community College. Turn left on route 53 (follow the signs to Monticello.)
