| Follow the east
route out of town and follow signs towards Monticello. This involves
going on 20 down a big hill past the interstate, then passing Piedmont Community
College on your right and making the next left after the PVCC stop light
onto 53. Climb up Monticello Mountain on the Thomas Jefferson Parkway (AKA
53). An alternative here is to take the bike/ped path to Monticello. You
will go under the new bridge at the top of the mountain. Continue on down
the mountain, make the sharp right at Simeon to stay on 53, then at the
next intersection bear right on 795 towards Ash Lawn. Continue on 795 but
bear right as it becomes 627. Follow 627 past Pat Kluge's Albemarle Farms
Estate and keep going all the way to route 20. Take a right on 20 and follow
for about 1 mile, then turn left on 708 at Walton School. Follow 708 back
to the top of "Dog Hill". Turn right onto 631 (Old Lynchburg Rd)
and follow back to town as per the end of the "Avoid"
