Traffic conditions are variable depending on time of day and on the particular road. There are very few bike lanes, especially in Albemarle County. Many of the roads are narrow with no shoulders and a lot of traffic. Some of the folks in the county don’t like cyclists and cyclists have had problems, especially in the Garth Rd area. Please follow all rules of the roads and ride with courtesy and safety foremost!
