| Take the west
route out of town. Follow 601 past Foxfield and continue straight at
the Hunt Country Corner (road name changes to 676). Continue on 676 to a
left on 676 (Owensville Rd.) Continue straight on 676 past the intersection
with 677, past Merriwether Lewis Elementary on your right, up and down a
few rollers, then down to the intersection with 250 (Use Caution!) Take
a left on 250, pass under the railroad bridge and take a right on 637 (in
downtown Ivy), go a short block and take a left to continue on 637. Cross
a small bridge and go up hill. Continue on the main road (637) down the
other side (twisty), cross another bridge and continue on 637. Stay on 637
through the interchange with 64. Continue on 637 towards the Ivy landfill
(thats where all those big trucks are going) to a 4 way intersection.
Turn left on 708. Stay on 708 up the hill to Taylor Gap, then down the other
side. Stay on 708 past a lot of new suburban development to the intersection
with 710. Turn left to stay on 708 (Red Hill Rd), Follow a few more miles
on 708 past Blandemar Farm, downhill to the intersection with 29. Go straight
across 29 (LOTS OF CAUTION) and continue on 708. Pass the quarry and the
cement mixer plant, go up a little hill and take a left on 706 (Dudley Mt.
Rd). 706 passes in the valley beside Dudley Mountain. Continue to the end
of 706, take a left on 631 (Old Lynchburg Rd.) 631 is a real roller coaster
with several ups and downs before coming out on 5th St. extended where it
becomes 4 lanes with a very wide shoulder. Climb up the hill past the trailer
park and take the second left onto Old Lynchburg Rd ( 780 ). If you pass
the new bank headquarters, youve gone too far. (Check out this map
for details.) Take Old Lynchburg Rd back past the Christian Academy and
underneath 64, past a 4-way stop and up the hill past Fry Springs Beach
Club (pool). Take a left at the 3-way stop onto Jefferson Park Ave. Follow
Jefferson Park Ave. back into town. |
